Meet Our Veterinary Team

Melanie Receveur Roberts, DVM

Dr. Melanie grew up in Floyds Knobs, IN. She completed her pre-veterinary and veterinary doctorate curriculums at Purdue University and Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1998, she practiced in Wetumpka, Alabama, for two years.

In April 2000, Dr. Melanie relocated to Jeffersonville and joined the Allison Lane Animal Hospital team. In 2002, she became a partner/owner of the hospital. She now practices there and serves as medical director.

She has extensive experience with medicine and surgery for dogs and cats and especially enjoys internal medicine and geriatric care. She believes in trying to make the veterinary experience as low-stress as possible for both the animal and its family. She believes that every animal, every case, every family is unique and may require “out-of-the-box” thinking. Dr. Melanie also has many years of experience with exotic pets of all kinds. Her patients have included not only rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, and wildlife but also birds, reptiles, large cats, otters, foxes, skunks, ducks, chickens, peacocks, degus, and even a prairie dog.

Dr. Melanie lives with her dog, Maizy, and her cat, Wally. She enjoys spending time with her sister, her nephews, and her friends. Her hobbies include traveling, painting, decorating, party planning, and Jeepin’. Mental health and dementia care are issues close to her heart and where she has focused her community outreach. In addition, she serves the community as a member of a local service sorority.

Donna

Customer Service Representative

Donna has been working at Allison Lane Animal Hospital for the last 14 years. She graduated from Columbus North High School and Indiana State University. When it comes to taking care of her veterinary patients, Donna prides herself on having empathy for the client and pet as well as being dependable.

In her free time, Donna loves spending time with her grandchildren. She always loves spending time with her pets and the love of her life, Ted. She can often be found gardening, working around her house, enjoying music, beer, and doing anything at the beach.

Customer Service Representative

Maegan has been working with Allison Lane Animal Hospital for the last 5 years. She graduated from Eastern High. When it comes to veterinary medicine and taking care of patients, she prides herself on being funny, genuine, and understanding.

In her free time, Maegan can be found spending time with her family, watching movies, or reading books.

Customer Service Representative

Charity has been working with Allison Lane Animal Hospital since 2023. She attended Charleston and prides herself on her patience.

In her free time, Charity is driving her daughter to sports or enjoying watching her baby take first steps.

Chloe

Veterinary Assistant

Chloe has been working with Allison Lane Animal Hospital for the last 4 years. She is currently attending Penn Foster to become a certified veterinary technician. She prides herself in knowing that her care helps animals live happier and comfier lives.

In her free time, she likes to read and watch movies. She loves taking car rides with her dog or cuddling with her cats.

Megan

Veterinary Assistant

Megan has been with Allison Lane Animal Hospital for the last 3 years. She is currently attending Purdue University. She prides herself on staying focused on what is best for the patient. It is important to her that she provides the best care she can.

In her free time, she loves cuddling with her cat while reading a book. She also enjoys relaxing in nature or indulging in photography.
